This is because the joy con drift is caused by the protective coating on the carbon contacts rubbing off. Causing the dust to spread, causing a false signal. They rectify this by extracting the old unit, and inserting the new one. WebOnce it's open (I suggest watching a youtube video on how to take them apart), you should dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and clean the button pads and the buttons themselves. Rubbing alcohol will evaporate quickly and isn't conductive. Do not use water or soap. Rubbing alcohol is really the way to go.
